Two Lost Loves was created with the help of many individuals. I created a Google voice account and solicited volunteers to leave anonymous messages that would be used in this piece. These messages were then used as source material for the vocal samples. Two particular stories stood out as especially poignant and centered around loss. One story speaks to the loss of a grandparent and the other the loss of a romantic relationship. While the entire story of the two primary messages in this piece is largely unknown, they both carry a thread of love, loss, and remorse. The end result is an intimate glimpse into the contributor’s raw emotional state.
